Special events all summer long!
In addition to the interpreters who are always present in the Village, you might very well come across characters straight from the past, such as the beggar, the priest, the storyteller, and the inspector. Then again, you might witness a lively dispute between two farmers that may very well end in front of the justice of the peace. Other events such as a wedding, a baptism, a funeral are also scheduled.
Be sure to see Chantons Louis Mailloux on Sunday, June 27, the official opening of the Nicholas D. Thériault General Store on July 18, the ever popular Agricultural Fair on September 11 and 12, and so much more!

Having died from a mysterious and terrible illness, the deceased could not lay in state as was the custom, for fear of contagion. Since the worsening of her condition, she had been living with the Savoie family. This is where she is laid in the casket ordered from the carpenter some time ago; four brave pallbearers will carry her to her last resting-place, after stopping at the chapel for a requiem mass. The bereaved family will follow at a distance, their grief made even more intense by the feeling that they have relinquished their duty by rushing the funeral ceremony. As if the poor woman had not suffered enough already; requiescat in pace! |
