The house is a reproduction of that of Élie Thomas Jr., which was built in 1936 and lived in until 1945. The Thomases employed a maid and seamstress at the house. This Tracadie-area family has lived in the village since the early 1800s. The men in this family were master coopers from father to son.
The Élie Thomas house, a typical 1930s bungalow, showcases this style above all with its dormered gable roof, one-and-a-half storeys and gallery.
